Meet Gabby

Great things come in small packages! Gabby is a sweet senior (15 year old) Rat Terrier with a whole bunch of get-up-and-go! She is very affectionate and lives for nothing more than a scratch to her haunches and to sleep under the covers next to you at night. She has lived with other dogs and cats, but it is her heart’s desire to get some love and attention from her forever person.

Her mother was a longtime A.R.F. foster and volunteer. Gabby will bark when people come to the door, and if they come inside, she will continue to “greet” them until they pet her! And although she has arthritis, she is still very active and spry—just take a look at her video! Nothing stops her from getting onto the laps of her preferred people. She loves to run in the yard, play fetch, and “kill” her stuffed toys. Gabby is an all-around wonderful dog for any family. If you are looking for a friendly, fun addition to your household, please consider Gabby. She is a lot of “bang for the buck!”

Gabby is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken and spayed. Gabby's adoption fee is $150.

A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Gabby fill out an online application today! https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/ Once your application has been approved, an A.R.F. volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
