Meet Monk
Monk arrived as a timid stray and quickly proved he’s more brave than he looks. This 2-year-old tabby is built like a little explorer: curious, quick on his paws, and always ready to investigate a new sound or sunbeam.
Monk is still settling in at the cat center, but so far he has shown himself to be calm around people once he’s had a minute to sniff and settle. He is curious and loves to explore and investigate his surroundings. He is eager for human interaction and loves to jump on laps for a nice love session. Volunteers describe him as shaping up to be “a first-class cuddler” and “king of leg rubs.” He is also quite playful and loves playing on his own and with wand toys.
Monk would thrive in a calm household that gives him space to explore and settle in. He’s adaptable to single-cat homes but would also likely do well with a friendly, well-mannered feline companion after a slow introduction. Though he can sometimes be startled by loud noises, he doesn’t seem scared of barking dogs and may also tolerate a well-mannered dog.
Monk is microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations, neutered, and litter box trained. Monk’s adoption fee is $135. If you are interested in meeting him, please fill out our Online Application today! Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.
If you’re invited to meet an animal:
- Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
- All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.
Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
