Meet Gertrude
Gertrude is a beautiful 7-year-old calico cat with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She is a very talkative girl who loves to chat with her people and let you know exactly how she's feeling. Whether she's greeting you in the morning or asking for dinner, Gertrude always has something to say!
This sweet girl thrives on companionship and does not enjoy being left alone for long periods. She loves being near her people and is happiest when she can follow you from room to room, keeping you company throughout the day. While she can be a little nervous around new people at first, once she feels safe, her affectionate and loving nature shines through.
Gertrude gets along well with other cats and would likely enjoy having a feline friend. She is afraid of dogs, so she would do best in a dog-free home. She can also do well with children, especially if they are gentle and patient. Around unfamiliar kids, she tends to be shy and may hide until she feels comfortable.
One thing you absolutely need to know about Gertrude: she is a dedicated wet food enthusiast! She lives for her daily wet food meals and fully expects them to be part of her routine. Anyone considering bringing Gertrude home should be committed to giving her wet food every day—this is non-negotiable in her book!
If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will keep you company, carry on delightful conversations, and reward your love with endless sweetness, Gertrude may be the perfect match.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.
If you’re invited to meet an animal:
- Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
- All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.
Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
