Meet Princess Leia

Princess Leia is a 1 year old female Cairn Terrier mix who weighs in at 6 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $500.  If you are still interested, please read more below.

She was found as a stray. Since coming to ARF she has made a lot of progress!

She is a dainty, affectionate, little girl. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and playful companion who will fill your days with joy and your heart with love, Princess Leia is ready to be your perfect little girl. She is a 'portable pooch' where you can take her anywhere. Her favorite thing is spending time with her foster brothers, whether it’s chasing each other around the backyard, playing fetch, going for a walk or enjoying a good game of “catch me if you can.” She gets along well with other dogs.

When playtime’s over, Princess Leia transforms into the ultimate snuggle buddy. She adores cuddles, gives plenty of kisses, and will happily curl up next to you for a nap or watch TV. She’s incredibly affectionate and thrives on being close to her people. Princess Leia would make a great companion for an active senior.

Princess Leia is now 95% housetrained. She sleeps through the night in her crate/puppy pen. She prefers to potty in her puppy pen, in the backyard she is still learning. While on walks she will go potty.

Princess Leia enjoys sitting inside in the sun and looking out the window. Since coming to her foster home she learned how to go up and down stairs and handles them with no problem. Princess Leia doesn’t like being left alone. So another dog or a stay-at-home person would be best. Under supervision, she is doing well with free roam of the house.

Do you have it in your heart to open your home to Princess Leia?  If you do, she will become your loyal companion!

Princess Leia is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken, and spayed.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
