Meet Charlie

Charlie is a 7 year old male Mini Poodle who weighs in at 11 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $500.  If you are still interested, please read more below.

Hello, My name is Charlie and I came from a puppy mill were I lived the 7 years of my life. I have no idea how to behave like a normal house dog. My foster mom is working very patiently with me to get me used to all the noises and things in the house. I am very quiet and shy and you need to be very calm and patient around me because everything makes me jump and run for safety. The good thing is that I don't have too many accidents in the house as long as I have some pee pads in my area. I eat well if you place the bowl right in front of me, but I am not a big drinker, and need some reminders. I am very well behaved during the day, but at night I don't like to sleep alone and I will cry for you to bring me in your bedroom where I can sleep in my crate. I promise then you will not hear a peep from me because I want to be with my person. To have another dog in the house will definitely be a plus in my learning on how to be a real dog, so I can imitate and eventually get trained to go outside. Walking on the leash is unknown to me, but my foster mom brings me outside in the yard and I like to walk behind her. If you sit in the grass I will slowly come near you and keep you company. As you can see I have a lot to learn still, but I am determined to learn if you give me the time, patience, care and the love that I desperately need … Seniors or people working from home would be ideal for me. I have not been with kids, so I am not sure if I'm ready for them, but another dog in the house would help me tremendously. I am ready for love…are you the caring, patient, compassionate person ready to love me?? I would love to meet you.

Charlie is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations and neutered.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
