Meet Rayo
Rayo is an 8 year old male Labrador Retriever mix who weighs in at 78 pounds. This dog's adoption fee is $300. If you are still interested, please read more below.
Rayo found himself at a local animal shelter and ARF came to his rescue. Through no fault of his own, Rayo finds himself in need of a new home because his owner is no longer available to care for him.
Rayo is an energetic, lovable, inquisitive snuggle-bug. He will play until he's tired then become a couch potato for a long nap. He loves chasing tennis balls and squirrels, and likes a short game of tug with his rope. You would never know he's 8 years old because he still plays and acts like a much younger dog. He LOVES his treats. He is food motivated, however he does show some food aggression and should be fed away from other dogs. There are 2 other dogs in his foster home. He interacts well with one of his foster brothers, but he doesn't get along with the other older blind dog.
Rayo seems to be a very loyal dog. He follows his foster mom everywhere and looks for her when she's in another room or outside. He spends lots of nap time sleeping at her feet. He is potty trained and lets his someone know when he has to go outside. Rayo is good in the house when his foster mom goes to work.
Rayo is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken, and neutered. This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today! Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.
If you’re invited to meet an animal:
- Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
- All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.
Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
