Meet Burton
Hi everyone! This is Burton checking in. I’m a silky black and white cat, and I am ready to find my forever home! I’m the ultimate lap cat — seriously, I would sit criss-cross-applesauce in your lap all day long if you let me. Any time my foster mom has a spare moment, I’m climbing into her lap to snuggle in for a long, relaxing session. You can scroll through this page to see tons of pics of me being my adorable self.
I’ve got a serious soft spot for wet food (any kind will do!), and when you look into my eyes — the most brilliant shade of green — I promise you’ll be smitten. I’m really just looking for a home that can give me the love, attention, and daily pets I’ve been dreaming of.
I’d thrive in a home with adults or older kids who understand I can be a little sensitive at times. Sudden movements or being picked up can scare me — I wasn’t treated very kindly in the past, so being lifted into the air isn’t my favorite thing. That said, it might sound funny, but I do love climbing into laps on my own! I just like to be in control of the cuddles.
I would also do really well in a home with another friendly cat — I enjoy having a feline buddy around and get along great with my fellow kitties.
If you’ve got a cozy lap and a heart ready to love, I’d love to meet you. My foster mom says I’m very easy to handle when it comes to things like vet visits — just show me a Churu or a spoonful of wet food, and I’m game! If you think we could be a good match, please fill out a form on the ARF website today!
Burton is microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations, neutered, and litter box trained. Burton’s adoption fee is $135. If you are interested in meeting Burton, please fill out our Online Application today! Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.
If you’re invited to meet an animal:
- Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
- All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.
Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
