Meet Raisin

Raisin is a 5.5 month old female Shepherd/Cur mix who weighs in at 24 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $450.  If you are still interested, please read more below.

Raisin (Rae/Raisinette) is a sassy 5.5-month old shepherd mix from Texas. Raisin has a sweet soul and a big personality for such a small girl! With her sister Judy, Raisin made the long trek up from Texas on June 8 in hopes of finding her forever family. Her distinctive face mask and big brown eyes make her stand out from the pack. These girls are quickly coming into their own, running and sunbathing in the backyard, curious about the resident cats, delighted by any kind of toy, and interested in everything. Every day is a new adventure for Miss Rae. She has clearly never experienced a TV and is entirely convinced that the people and animals on it are in the room with us! Raisin loves to snuggle up on the couch and wrestle with her sister Judy and the resident dog. She firmly believes the cicadas are here for her entertainment.  The girls will likely be on the smaller side when full grown.

We're working on potty training and walking on a leash. If you're interested in this pup, please fill out an application and come meet sweet Rae.

Raisin is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, 90% housetrained and spayed.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
