Meet Tux

Tux is a 2 year old male Boston Terrier mix who weighs in slightly underweight at 22.5 pounds.  The vet thinks his healthy weight should be 25 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $550.  If you are still interested, please read more below.

Hi,

I'm Tux, a very dapper 2 year old Boston Terrier mix. I have lots of energy and would love to follow my new family around and play with them.  I LOVE toys, especially the kind that make loud squeaking sounds.  Oh boy! Those are the best!  I'm very friendly with people and would enjoy both big and little ones who like to play.  I like meeting new dog friends too, but my foster mom says I don't take a hint when the other dog doesn't want to play. I've had a few squabbles with my foster brother who doesn't like to share his toys, but get along fine with my foster sister who's older and more laid back.  There aren't any cats in my foster home, but my foster mom thinks cats would probably not appreciate my getting in their faces since I'm very curious.  At night I'm happy to sleep in my crate or in a room near my people.  I love treats and would be happy to continue my good boy training such as sit, stay, lay down.  I'm very proud to say I have not had a single potty incident in the house since I came to stay with my foster family!  I can let you know I need to potty by standing at the door or whining.  A fenced backyard would be great, but if you're willing to teach me some leash manners such as not pulling, then I'd be fine in an apartment or townhouse as well.

Tux is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken, and neutered.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
