Meet Busch
Busch is a 2 year old male Black Lab mix who weighs in at 60 pounds. This dog's adoption fee is $450. If you are still interested, please read more below.
Busch made his way all the way from Beaumont, Texas to Illinois where he has blossomed into a happy go-lucky dog who loves to greet you with with kisses and tail wags when you wake up and when you come home from work. He would love a running buddy or an avid walker to explore the world with. Busch is a very athletic dog and he loves to run and play.
Busch does great while his foster mom is away at work and sleeps all through the night. He quickly picked up commands such as "sit" and "drop it". He can be timid of meeting new people, but once he realizes you want to be his friend, he will eagerly accept your affections.
Busch loves playing with the dog in his foster home, however, he seems a little wary of meeting four legged friends on walks, so a slow introduction would be best on a leash. Cats, on the other hand, look a little too much like the squirrels and bunnies he likes to chase, so a home without a cat may be best.
Busch has been treated for heartworm and is back to his regular self with no lasting effects to his health.
Busch is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken, and neutered. This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today! Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.
If you’re invited to meet an animal:
- Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
- All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.
Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
