Meet Shiva

Shiva is a 1-2 year old, 55 pound, female Shepherd. She is a beautiful, happy girl who, through no fault of her own, has not yet learned appropriate manners. She needs a patient home with positive training experience. A home with Shepherd experience preferred.

Shiva loves to run, play with her toys and chew on her bone. She loves to cuddle and enjoys being around her humans. She also enjoys running and playing with dogs approximately her size or larger. She can sit for treats and takes them gently! She is eager to learn for treats.

Shiva can get over-excited when she wants attention and, without proper training, she will use her paws and mouth to try to get it.

Some things that her foster home has been working with Shiva on are:

Not putting her teeth on humans for attention and play;

Not jumping up on people;

Not reacting to other dogs while on walks.

Shiva has made good progress and needs a home that will be committed to continuing her training.

REQUIREMENTS for Shiva's forever home (Not negotiable):

No cats or small dogs;

No apartments or townhomes;

Children must be at least 12 years of age;

A fully fenced yard;

Daily exercise/walks/runs; and

Positive training experience.

An active home that will exercise her daily is needed. With proper patience, exercise and training, Shiva will be an ideal companion. Shiva's enthusiasm to work and please can be a great foundation for agility or search work.

Shiva is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken  and  spayed. Shiva's adoption fee is $450. This dog's new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.

A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting this dog fill out an

Once your application has been approved, an A.R.F. volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
