Meet Dorie
Hi! My name is Dorie, and I'm patiently waiting for my forever home.
I'm a gentle, affectionate girl with a soft heart and the loudest purr you'll ever hear. I absolutely love pets and ear scratches—and I’ll even gently paw you to ask for more attention! My favorite spot is perched in my cat tree, watching the world go by outside. I also have the most unique fur, with a beautiful black streak running down my back that makes me truly one of a kind.
I’ve come a long way from where I started and have truly blossomed in a loving home. I’m a total sweetheart who thrives on gentle affection—I’ll happily curl up in your lap or nudge you when I’m ready for attention. I may be a little shy at first with new people, but with patience and kindness, I open up into a loyal and loving companion. With the right introduction, I can get along wonderfully with other cats. I’m playful at heart and full of personality—especially with that signature black streak!
I’m currently with my foster but I am looking for a calm, loving forever family who will give me time to settle in and feel safe. If that sounds like you, fill out an application to adopt me and make me part of your family. I can't wait to find a cozy lap and a warm heart to call home.
Dorie is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, and litter box trained.
Dorie's adoption fee is $135. If you are interested in meeting Dorie, please fill out our Online Application today!
Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.
If you’re invited to meet an animal:
- Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
- All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.
Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
