Meet Tawny

Tawny is approximately 1 year old male and is a ball of love!  He absolutely adores everyone- cats, dogs and even toddlers!  Tawny has a horrific past.  He was dropped off inside a building on the south side of Chicago in bad condition.  He was thin with missing hair, and he looked like he went through a really rough time.

Now Tawny has gained five pounds!  He is a healthy ten pounds and appreciative of every piece of food he eats. He is happy go lucky cat that is adaptable and would fit into any household.  He loves to sleep in bathroom sinks and bat toys around his room.  When he meets other cats, he thinks they are his friend and tries to greet them!  Unfortunately his foster’s cats aren’t receptive to his friendly overtures, but he still tries!  He also was originally a little cautious, but friendly, with the dogs in the house, and now greets them warmly. He is super sweet with the human toddler in the house and plays with her, snuggles up to her, and is very accepting of being picked up and snuggled.

Tawny is very human focused and wants to spend time with his favorite people (and is even friendly with strangers!). He would do best in a household that wants a loveable cat!

Tawny is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and litter box trained.

Tawny 's adoption fee is $110. If you are interested in meeting Tawny, please fill out our Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
