Meet Peach

Peach is a 3 year old little lab mix who weighs approximately 35 pounds. Peach is a timid dog who needs a patient family and another dog or two in the household to help her feel comfortable. While she is not at all aggressive, Peach finds new situations (like walking on a leash) and people rather scary and typically backs away. Loud sounds and small children also tend to startle and scare her, so a quiet house without loud fast moving children will be best.  Her foster mom thinks she would be good with gently, loving children.

Peach gets along well with cats and dogs, but is not real playful. A gentle dog (or two) or cat in the home will help Peach feel more comfortable. She behaves more like an older dog, although this may eventually change.  Peach requires a fenced yard, as she is still learning to trust her humans when on a leash, and is not really a walking companion.

Update:  As Peach has spent more time in her foster home, she is making huge advances.  A quiet home with a yard to play in and to sit and soak up the sun is all she needs.  When out on walks, she fears getting near the road, and definitely associates sidewalks and driveways with roads.  Otherwise, she has become a happy go lucky dog who will dash outside and has started to dash in, instead of cautiously peaking in to make sure no one scary is there.  Now that Peach feels like part of her foster mom's pack, she will bark at strangers initially, but they can then pet her within a short time.

Peach  is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken and spayed.  Her new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.

Peach's adoption fee is $325.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Peach fill out an Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If an animal is on our website, it is still available but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
