Meet Bond

Bond found his way to ARF after his human mama passed away. When he was a baby, Bond’s human mama wanted him so much that when she read his bio online, she drove all the way from Chicago to North Carolina to adopt him and promised to love him forever.

What made Bond’s bio so special that his human drove all the way from Chicago to North Carolina?  Bond was blind due to cataracts and has very mild cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). CH is a neurological condition in which the cerebellum is smaller than usual or not completely developed. In Bond’s case, it just means that he has a wobbly bum. He’s shaken, not stirred (hence his name). But having a wobbly bum doesn’t keep Bond from getting around and doing all the kitty things he needs to do. He can jump up on furniture to look out the window and he has no issues using his litter box.

In January, Bond’s life changed in a MAJOR way. Bond had surgery to remove the cataracts and he had replacement lenses placed. Bond can now SEE!!! Bond is not expected to need any further treatment for his cataracts but he will need to see a veterinary ophthalmologist twice a year for the rest of his life in order to ensure that there are no issues.

Bond’s foster mom tells us: Bond is the best boy!!! At first, he was cautious but always super friendly.  He absolutely loves face and chin scratches and will reward you with purrs for days!!! By the second week in our home he was snuggling up to me for naps. I melted!!! He is such a gentle spirit who just wants to be loved. I’d like to see him in a quieter home because he can be easily startled by loud noises. I also think he would like a cat friend. My cat comes into his foster room and Bond comes out immediately wanting to say hello! This boy is a complete and total love who gives the world’s best headbutts. If you are looking for a sweet boy who will melt your heart, Bond is your boy!!!

If you are interested in meeting Bond or have any questions, his foster mom would be happy to answer any questions you may have.  Bond is 2.5 years old, neutered, and is up to date on all his vaccines. Bond may not be declawed.

Bond's adoption fee is $110.  If you are interested in meeting Bond, please fill out our  Online Application  today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
