Meet Gypsy

Looking for a cat for your cat? Want another kitty to cuddle with him, watch out the window with him? Keep him company while you’re away or at work? That’s ME!! I’m GYPSY and I LOVE other cats. I was living outside, got pregnant, was rescued and had my babies indoors. My foster mom loves me lots and has been helping me learn to relax and trust people. Once I get used to you, I won’t hide, I’ll sleep with you and you can pet me. I really want a human of my very own!

My ideal home is calm, quiet, has multiple cats, no young kids, and a gentle, patient adult or two who will let me take my time getting comfortable. I’ll sometimes rub against your legs, just to ‘mark’ you with my scent, not to ask for petting. I’m quite playful -- LOVE feather wand toys, and I’m good at catching the feather in my mouth mid-air! I like a window spot where I can watch birds and squirrels. I love to hang out with both of the resident cats in my foster home. One is my new best friend! We look out the window together, nap beside each other, and if he sleeps on the humans’ bed, so do I. I’m very sweet, just afraid .. can you show me how gentle and kind people can be?

My wonderful foster mom can tell you all about me and you can come meet me!  Just fill out a no-obligation adoption application online at www.arf-il.org (no commitment) and they will call you!  **

Gypsy is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, and litter box trained.

Her adoption fee is $75.  If you are interested in meeting Gypsy, fill out our Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an A.R.F. volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

  • Age-appropriate vaccines
  • Pre-adoption medical exam
  • A certificate for a free healthy pet exam at one of A.R.F.’s participating veterinarians within 7 days of adoption

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
