Welcome to ARF!

Animal Rescue Foundation -IL is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3), no-kill humane society. Our family of volunteers is dedicated to rescuing, fostering, and caring for homeless dogs and cats while we find them their forever homes. We promote spay/neuter programs to help reduce pet overpopulation and work within communities throughout Illinois to assist and educate the public about responsible pet ownership. As a proud participant in the nationwide “No More Homeless Pets” initiative our goal is to help bring about a time when all pets are valued and protected by their entire community.

MEET Peonie

This sweetheart was rescued from Chicago Animal Control with her kittens. She was a great mom, taking care of her kittens and any other kitten that came by her. She loves to be wherever you are and enjoys sleeping in bed with you. She enjoys running and playing, but will always come back to check to see where you are. This sweet girl obviously had a home at one time and was probably dumped because she got pregnant. She is not going to let her new person get too far from her sight. Although she was a great mom, there will be no more kittens in this girl’s future.  Only a great new home!

Peonie is female, spayed, about 4 years old (as of January 2018), micro-chipped, up to date on vaccinations, currently in a foster home, and has s special "Mom Cat" adoption fee of $90.

If you are interested in meeting Peonie, please complete our an Adoption Application today! Filling out an application does not obligate you in any way.  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

MEET Anna & Jazzy

Anna and Jazzy are a bonded pair.  Only adopters interested in adopting both dogs will be considered. Jazzy (female tan and white, wire haired terrier) weighs in at approximately 20 pounds and Anna (female soft silky tan chihuahua) weighs in at approximately 13 pounds.  They both are 3 years old and from a neglect case.  When they were rescued 3 months ago, they were thin, covered in fleas and were missing lots of hair. Today, they are a good weight, maybe could lose a pound even, they have a thick coat of hair and despite it all, they love people. Jazzy is the braver of the two and will approach you right away with a kiss to your hand followed by a more tentative Anna.  Then when you sit down, one will jump in your lap and within seconds they are both in your lap.  They are a bonded pair and will be adopted out together. They are absolutely wonderful dogs! Very sweet and affectionate - they want nothing more than to sit with you and receive love and attention.  Both appear to be housebroken.  Their leash manners could use a little tuning up, but nothing obedience training wouldn't cure.  They are sweet and loving with each other and join into a house of dogs and/or cats with ease.  They do seem to have a thing against large black dogs, that seems to set them off and will bark and bark at them.  Jazzy loves to chase a ball, and will retrieve it too!  They are both ready and searching now for their forever home - where they will be loved the rest of their lives!

Anna and Jazzy are micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken and altered.  Adoption fee for both fully vetted dogs is $500.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application,  please complete our an Adoption Application today! Filling out an application does not obligate you in any way.  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.
