Meet Apollo
APOLLO WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AFTER HIS NEUTER SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 1st.
Apollo is a not quite 2 year old male Sheltie Papillon mix who weighs in at 15 pounds. This dog's adoption fee is $450. If you are still interested, please read more below.
Apollo will be 2 years old Oct 1st. He has the long legs and feather tall ears like a papillon. His former family fed him Alpo and he did not do well on it - lots of scratching and he broke out. Now that he is with ARF, he happily eats a mix of Royal Canin and Stella and Cheweys and he is doing well.
He did well with his temp foster and her husband, as well as their 13-year-old grandchild. Since arriving at his ARF foster home, he loves everyone - his tail swings nonstop and he kisses hands. His foster has worked with him on leash. He is doing decent, but not 100% yet. He is crate trained with never a mess in his crate. He loves to run and play all day with his foster’s dog. In the evening, he will easily go back in his crate for the night when he is told. He spent his last year mostly in a cage. The young couple had a baby, both work, and they didn't have/want to spend time with him anymore. He was good with the baby. This nice pretty boy needs a new start in life!
Apollo is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, 90% housebroken, and will be neutered as of September 1st. This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today! Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.
If you’re invited to meet an animal:
- Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
- All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.
Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
