Meet Buckingham and Windsor (bonded siblings)

Buckingham and Windsor are two 4 month old kittens rescued from an outdoor feral colony in Southern Illinois, and their bond is truly special.  Buckingham has made incredible progress with  socialization.  He can be handled, comes for pets, loves treats, and thrives around other cats. He's very sweet.  He's even started sleeping in bed with his foster parents. His sister, Windsor, needs more time with her socialization, but she is making progress at her own speed.  She will take treats from your hands, and follows her brother's lead.  While she's not ready to be handled just yet, her confidence continues to grow every day.  Her favorite toy is the laser pointer.  These two are inseperable.  They do everything together....sleep, play, eat, potty, and even share the same food bowl despite having two. Windsor looks to Buckingham for reassurance, which is why it is so important they find a home together.  They also both get along well with other cats in their foster home.  Because Windsor is still building her confidence, a home with older children or no children would be best.  They have a reduced adoption fee to help find them a loving home together, as Windsor relies on Buckingham for comfort and confidence.

We encourage you to consider adopting kittens in pairs!  There are several reasons why Buckingham and Windsor would do well together, including:

-Two kittens keep each other entertained - they will play and get all their energy out on each other in time for snuggles with you!

-Having two kittens to play with each other prevents "I'm lonely and bored" behavioral issues.

-Watching two kittens wrestle is quite possibly the cutest thing you will ever see.

-The kittens will teach each other "how to cat" and learn to be more social with humans and people.

-You'll save two lives instead of one!

Buckingham and Windsor are micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and litter box trained.

Buckingham and Windsor's combined adoption fee is $165.  Please note A.R.F. does not approve applications for any kitten under 6 months of age to families that live outside of Illinois and/or beyond 100 miles of Wheaton or Glen Ellyn, IL.

If you are interested in meeting Buckingham and Windsor, please fill out our

online kitten adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/ today!

Once your application has been approved, an A.R.F. volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
