Meet Chef Josh
Meet Chef Josh, the 6-year-old Tortoiseshell who is ready to serve up a lifetime of love!
Don't let the name fool you—this beautiful kitty is all lady, though she does have a "head chef" personality. She knows she is in charge! She examines everything and everyone thoroughly before giving her seal of approval. Once she does, she has nothing but love for you.
The Dish on Chef Josh:
A Five-Star Companion: She loves human attention and would be an excellent fit in a family with respectful children who will treat her kindly.
Solo Artist: Chef Josh needs to be the "Only Cat" in the kitchen. She isn’t looking for feline roommates—she wants all your love for herself! At the cat center she has been exposed to dogs and does not seem fearful, so she may be ok living with a respectful dog after a proper introduction.
The Tortie Look: She has that classic, colorful tortoiseshell coat and plenty of affectionate "Tortitude."
Where to meet her:
Chef Josh is currently the guest of honor at the A.R.F. Cat Center inside the Aurora PetSmart. She’s tired of "takeout" and is looking for a permanent reservation in a loving home.
Chef Josh is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, and litter box trained.
Chef Josh's adoption fee is $135. If you are interested in meeting Chef Josh, please fill out our Online Application today!
Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.
If you’re invited to meet an animal:
- Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
- All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.
Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
