Meet Gizmo & Mittens (bonded pair)

Gizmo (brown and white with short fur) and Mittens (black and white with long fur) are an 8-year-old bonded pair of professional window watchers, expert couch warmers, and full-time snugglers looking for a new forever home after their beloved owner passed away. Thinking about getting a weighted blanket to manage the holiday stress? Look no further than Mittens, a glorious 16-pound queen who would love to lay on top of you for all of your favorite activities. While she is reserved at first, she quickly melts into a purring puddle who adores being brushed, petted and doted on. Gizmo is a little more playful of the two and likes to supervise what’s going on – she gives sweet little chirps and lots of kisses to let you know how happy she is.

Together, these girls are the perfect blend of calm and quirky. They will do just about anything for quality time near a sunny window, watching birds, squirrels, and the whole neighborhood like it’s their favorite show. They’ve been through a lot and were especially terrified in the loud shelter, but in their foster home they have absolutely blossomed. They’ve adapted to life with kids and have shown they may be tolerant of cat-savvy dogs who understand that the ladies are in charge.

Because of all they have experienced, Gizmo and Mittens are looking for a quieter home who will treasure them as the bonded pair they are and let them settle in at their own pace. If you have a cozy space, a sunny window and room in your heart for a living weighted blanket and her kissy little sidekick, these two would love the chance to be your loyal companions. With a bit of patience and a lot of love, you’ll soon find yourself wondering how you ever managed without your own personal snuggle squad, supervising squad and bird-watching committee curled up right beside you.

Both cats are micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations,  spayed, and litter box trained.

Their combined adoption fee is $270 ($135x2).  If you are interested in meeting  Gizmo & Mittrens,  please fill out our Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
