Meet Mittens

Mittens is a glorious 16-pound queen who is looking for a new home after her beloved owner passed away. While she was initially brought in with her sister Gizmo, she would love to find a home that will appreciate her as a solo kitty and allow her to lay on top of you for all your favorite activities (Netflix binging, book reading… even sleeping!). While she is reserved at first, she quickly melts into a purring puddle who adores being brushed, petted and doted on.

Mittens will do just about anything for quality time near a sunny window, watching birds, squirrels and the whole neighborhood like it’s her favorite show. She’s been through a lot and was especially terrified in the loud shelter, but in her foster home, she has absolutely blossomed. She’s adapted to life with kids and has shown she may be tolerant of cat-savvy dogs.

Because of all she has experienced, Mittens is looking for a quieter home who will treasure her and let her settle in at her own pace. With a bit of patience and a lot of love, you’ll soon find yourself wondering how you ever managed without mittens in your snuggle squad.

Mittens is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations,  spayed, and litter box trained.

Her adoption fee is $135.  If you are interested in meeting  Mittens, please fill out our Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
