Meet Chia

A big hello to all of my friends! My name is Chia and I am a handsome speckled black kitty. My foster mom compliments the beauty of my bright green eyes. I like to say that I am a STARVED kitty. Not starved for food, but rather starved for attention. Even if I had 10 hours straight of cuddles and attention, it wouldn’t be enough. I absolutely adore pets and kisses and ear rubs. Humans are my favorite things in the world and I would be great with any and all adults. Sometimes kids can scare me so I’d be better in a family with no children. I haven’t been around other dogs or cats yet so I’m not sure how I would react to them. But I’d be happy to try it out if you have a friendly feline or pup at home. Besides humans, I also love playing with toys, like little puff balls, colorful strings, and feathers. I’m a great climber and would be happy to spend some time looking out the window on a cat tree. I don’t like going into small spaces so I can sometimes gently bite if you’re trying to put me in a cage. But with the help of a towel, it’s no problem. My foster mom says that I even do great at the vet, which is very rare for kitties. So, if you’re looking for a purr machine that would love nothing more than endless attention, I bet I would be the perfect cat for you.

Chia is microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations, neutered, and litter box trained. Chia’s  adoption fee is $135. • Pre-adoption medical exam
  • A certificate for a free healthy pet exam at one of A.R.F.’s participating veterinarians within 7 days of adoption

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
