Meet Girl Friday & Sidekick (*bonded pair)
Girl Friday (or Momma, as we often call her) and her little buddy, Sidekick, might just be the cutest mother/son pair around. These two love spending time together eating lots of treats and playing with as many toys as they can get their paws on. Sidekick is quite the ham! He is super silly and loves to run and jump, sometimes all over his momma. Their absolute favorite toys are wand toys, especially the ones that have feathers at the end. They will chase them until they are panting. They have such great energy and are so full of life.
Momma is an amazing companion. She loves to be held and carried around. She can’t wait to explore everything and will often hide from her baby only to sneak attack him, sending him running. Her fur is such an amazing color and she absolutely loves to be brushed. Chin and neck scratches are her favorites. She always wants to be around people and will provide great company. Both she and Sidekick have tiny little meows and will use them to let you know when they want something, usually treats or love.
Unfortunately for this amazing duo, both mom and baby have tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus). DON’T LET THAT DETER YOU!! Instead, take a few minutes to educate yourself. FeLV is species specific and only contagious to other cats. It is not contagious to humans, dogs or other non-cat animals. These two must always be indoor cats and will need a complete and balanced diet to help them stay as healthy as possible.
FeLV positive cats can live a good 2-4 years after diagnosis, and sometimes even longer. In some cases (around 30%), cats that have previously tested positive can fight off the disease and later test negative! Our hope is that they can live out whatever fun-loving lives they have left in a home that will shower them with endless love.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.
If you’re invited to meet an animal:
- Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
- All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.
Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
