Meet Whiteriver

Coming from a cat hoarding home, WhiteRiver is a unique "cat’s cat" who is hilariously skittish yet curious around humans, but a confident socialite with other felines. He requires a 1-2 month "safe room" start, but once settled, his kitten-like curiosity takes over! He loves exploring every corner and sniffing plants (without chewing them). You’ll find his "stealthy" behavior charming—he’s like a secret agent who observes from a distance while waiting for snacks. He is not a picky eater and absolutely loves treats!

WhiteRiver is not an Alpha cat; he loves following his foster brother around like a loyal shadow. However, because he grew up in a crowd, he can be a bit clueless about personal space and isn't afraid to strut under the nose of a dominant cat. For this reason, he needs a mellow, patient feline sibling and would not do well with a highly dominant Alpha. While he hates being chased, he is learning to trust and now calmly enjoys head scratches in his cat box and has even mastered his first nail trim (which took some effort!). With a patient heart and plenty of snacks, WhiteRiver will be a rewarding, loyal, and entertaining addition to any peaceful home with a friendly resident cat to show him the ropes.

Whiteriver  is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and litter box trained.

Whiteriver's adoption fee is $ 135.  If you are interested in meeting  him, please fill out our Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
