Meet Phil

Phil has made so much progress since he was rescued by his foster mom in late January of 2024.  He was an outdoor stray that was trapped by animal control in winter 2023. He has had to learn about the noises and smells associated with indoor life and most importantly learn to trust humans. He is still shy and Very cautious when it comes to accepting pets and attention.  He will approach when he wants attention. He starts by giving head bonks into your leg and then likes soft pets and touches on his head and back. He doesn’t like fast movements so small children and Phil would not be a good match. A quiet home with no other pets or another friendly cat would be best for Phil.  He does like to play and he will engage with a human that uses  wand toys and he loves the ball tower with balls to spin around.  Phil has never been aggressive but when he is done with human contact he will swat or bat at your hand so an experienced cat owner who can read his cues and respect his boundaries is a must.  Phil is a gorgeous long haired tabby with impressive ear floof and soft mane of hair around his neck. His sweet little face is just adorable. Since Phil is hand shy at first (but warms up once he knows you) his foster mom started out using a back scratcher to rub him and he LOVES it.  His special scratcher will go with him to his new home.

Phil is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered , and litter box trained.

Phil's adoption fee is $135. If you are interested in meeting Phil, please fill out our Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
