Meet April

I am April. And, boy, do I ever need your help. My foster mom isn’t sure what my story is, all she knows is that I am pretty fearful of everything, at least at 1st. I’m very sweet if you can get me past my fear and I’ll even let you pet me, especially on my head and chin, and I’ll purr as you do. But any sudden movement or my foster mom isn’t quite sure what, but I scared, so I do have some trust issues. At 1st my foster mom had me in a closet and I was happy as could be

with my cat buddy (see picture in the mirror). I was an amazing mom, having 7 perfect kittens and they are all beautiful, properly raised, if I do say so myself, and super social.

My foster home is quite loud, with cats, dogs, babies, small children and lots of comings and goings so my preference is to stay in my comfort box (a cardboard scratching box) somewhere out of the way, just observing. It’s just too much for me. I think a quieter home with maybe a cat buddy or two would be perfect or a couple of mirrors would work too. I do believe that if I’m in the right home, with someone who has the patience to build up my trust, I could come out of my shell, face my fears, and be the sweet, loving lap cat I know I can be. I must say, I am quite beautiful, and my foster mom tells me this, whenever I let her pet me. I’m not a picky eater though my preference for wet food is anything fishy. I also like my crunchies to tide me over until mealtime. So, if you think you would have the right home and environment for me, I would love to be yours. And would truly appreciate you forever for rescuing me!

April is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations,  spayed, and litter box trained.

April's adoption fee is $135.  If you are interested in meeting April, please fill out our Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

  • Pre-adoption medical exam
  • A certificate for a free healthy pet exam at one of A.R.F.’s participating veterinarians within 7 days of adoption

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
