Meet Eddie

Eddie is a 5 year old male Lab/Shepherd mix.  He finds himself looking for a new home because the addition of young children (two under 2) in his home have made him uncomfortable.  He will do best in a home with children over the age of 7 if children are present.  He used to just walk away from the toddler, however, as she has become more ambulatory and his family has a newborn, it is difficult to watch their toddler's interactions with Eddie as closely.  Now Eddie will growl at her and show teeth if she doesn’t go away.  He is a fabulous dog— he tries to disengage, and when the toddler won’t leave him alone he has chosen not to bite, and his family does not want to risk something happening.

Eddie is a very loving and protective dog to his owners. He can be a little slow to warm up to new people in his own home. He is a cuddler and loves the outdoors. Eddie goes to doggy daycare twice a week and is looking for a family who likes to be active.  He likes to go for at least one walk a day - they are his favorite part of his day.  He is a smart boy - he is "place" trained and "heel" trained while walking.  He is housebroken, walks well on a leash, and is good with other dogs.  If Eddie sounds like a good fit for you, fill out an application and set up a time to meet him!

Eddie is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken

and neutered

.  This dog's new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.

The adoption fee for this pet is $375.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting this dog fill out an Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
