Meet Baxter

Baxter is just as sweet as they come.  This guy is a HUGE snuggler and loves to be by his people.  He is such a great companion and really just wants to be loved. Whenever he gets pets and scratches, he insists on giving kisses to whoever is petting him.  He is such a gentle guy.  Wait until you hear how he purrs.  He has one of the loudest motors around. Don't let Baxter's age fool you.  He is still very playful and loves wand toys and mice. He loves spending time in his cat tree, watching out the window, taking naps in the sunshine and keeping his people company.

In March of 2023, Baxter was surrendered to ARF when his owner could no longer care for him.  Come to find out, Baxter had a condition called Stomatitis, which affected his teeth and mouth.  ARF came to his rescue and got him the care that he needed.  To cure him of the Stomatitis, all of his teeth were pulled and now he's completely healed and living a pain-free life.  As a result of having no teeth, Baxter's tongue often sticks out, which if you ask me, is the most adorable thing!  Just check out his pics.  No worries though, he eats both dry and wet food, just like any other cat.  But, UNlike any other cat, since he doesn't have any teeth, he'll never need expensive dental work or cleanings again!

Baxter is an amazing kitty and really just wants to find a great forever home to live out the rest of his life.  He promises to be an excellent friend and give you all of the love and loyalty that you could ever want.  Baxter has lived with cats before for many years, so he would probably do fine with another furry friend, given the proper introduction.  He doesn't seem to care too much for dogs, but gentle kids of any age would be great in his new home.  The more love he can get, the better!  Baxter would truly be a wonderful addition to any family.

Baxter is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations and neutered. Baxter's adoption fee is $75. If you would like to meet Baxter, please fill out our Online Adoption Applicaton today!

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
