Meet Fergus

Handsome ginger alert! Fergus is a gorgeous orange boy with such a sweet heart. He was a stray for the first few years of his life so he has spent several months with his foster family getting acclimated to a life indoors. He came to us very frightened and unsure but he has made so much progress.  He will need patience from his new family- someone that understands that you need to earn his trust and take it slow.  Fergus is around 4 years old but still extremely playful and loves to interact with his foster mom when she plays with wand toys and he jumps up and grabs them with those fuzzy little ginger paws.  He also has a large collection of plush toys that he keeps organized on a cardboard scratching board. He arranges them neatly every night. His favorite is a giant pickle that he loves to cuddle.  Fergus loves to rub his cheeks against your hand and get cheek scritches.  He flops on his side to lay next to you but he will sometimes get enthusiastically playful and use his paws to bat and swat and that’s where a wand or other toy come in handy to redirect him to appropriate outlets for his energy. He is a wonderful boy and would do best in an adult only home where he can get used to his surroundings at his own pace and continue to learn to trust humans.  Fergus is neat and tidy and litter box trained. He has a tiny little meow and big green eyes that will melt your heart.

Fergus is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and litter box trained.

His adoption fee is $135.  If you are interested in meeting Fergus, please fill out our Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
