Meet Sunny

Sunny is a 1 year old spayed female German Shepherd mix who weighs in at 38 pounds.

Here is what Sunny would like you to know about her:

Hi, I'm Sunny! My fosters think I was named that because of my Sunny disposition. I always seem happy, maybe it's the ears. One is always up and one is always down! My foster mom finds it adorable and I really love behind the ear scratches and tummy rubs. I would love a family to hang out and play with. I'm super gentle and sweet, and get along great with kids and dogs alike. I'm happy to play or just cuddle and chill. I'm easy going, and prefer to be around people or dogs vs. alone.  I am potty trained, but I get nervous around new people and might go a little bit inside. Please be patient with me and I'll realize you're someone I can trust and love and will quickly stop going potty in the house (I stopped by the 4th day at my foster home).  I don't pull on the leash during walks and I'm pretty quiet too.  I LOVE food, learn really fast and listen well, and appear to be highly trainable (might be the German Shepherd part of me).

I love smaller toys that I can carry in my mouth, I'm gentle with them and don't tear them apart. I can entertain myself with toys, especially if you give me a ball that bounces and something to chew on. I also really LOVE sticks! My foster dad took me to play disc golf and I did great! I loved being outside and getting to play with all the people and dogs out there with us. I'll probably like cats too, but I haven't really been around any yet since I came to ARF.

Sunny is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and spayed. Her new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.

Sunny's adoption fee is $400.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Sunny fill out an Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
