Meet Bruce

This is Bruce, a gorgeous approximately 4 year old purebred male Rottweiler.  Bruce weighs about 95 lbs. and is still a little underweight. He came to A.R.F. with his friend/mom, Sadie, from a breeding situation where they lived, pretty neglected, in a barn. Indoor living and the big, busy world are new to them.

Bruce is affectionate, funny, playful and loyal. He knows few commands and will need basic obedience training. His foster mom has worked on crate-training and house-training and he is doing quite well. His exuberance is too much for a home with young children and he is too interested in cats to be considered for a home with kitties. He is good with other dogs.

Bruce was diagnosed by A.R.F.'s vets with a mild heart condition that causes him to pant much of the time, so his forever family will see that he does not go on runs, really long walks or be left outside on really hot days. No medication was prescribed and it is not expected to affect the quality or length of his life. He loves to play in the yard, throwing his Wubba and large ball in the air and running after them, and he loves if his person plays along with him.  A.R.F.'s vets also advised that Bruce's droopy-looking eyes require  no treatment as they appear to cause no discomfort.

Bruce's foster mom says that he is a wonderful, loving and loyal companion who will fill the heart of some fortunate person.  He is very happy and affectionate. Don't pass this beautiful creature up just because he is not perfect!  He has a world of happiness to offer the right home.  Enjoy this additional video of this lovable, goofy boy:

Bruce  is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, crate trained, mostly housebroken and neutered . His new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.

Bruce's adoption fee is $400.00 .  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Bruce fill out an Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an A.R.F. volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
