Meet Lady

Hi, my name is Lady!! I’m a 2 year old terrier/pit mix who LOVES to play! I’m really good at fetch, and love to play tug of war. My fosters even think I could be agility trained because in addition to loving to play, I’m a smart girl that’s highly food driven and has great body awareness. If you’ve always wanted a buddy by your side to have some fun with - I’m your Lady! Don’t worry if you are busy, I’ll get the hint and go off to play on my own or take a nap until you’re ready - Or feel free to throw a ball while you’re sitting at your computer working - that works for me!! If it squeaks even better!!

I like to think I'm a lap dog even though I'm almost 40 pounds of muscle! I would love to climb in your lap and wrap my head around your neck to give you a hug or snuggle on the couch. I am young, so I sometimes get overly excited when given attention. This might be a bit overwhelming to young children, so older kids are probably a better fit for me. I did have a rough start to life as a stray, so I might bark to ‘warn’ off people and dogs until I know they’re safe. If you tell me they’re safe I will trust you. Dogs I really really want to play with and I’ve had some interactions with, including taking on 5 surrogate pups before I was brought into foster care. My fosters think I’d likely get along with most dogs, but I might take a little bit to warm up to them.  I was a little protective of my surrogate puppies around other dogs, but since I've been on my own at a different foster home, I am interested in interacting with neighborhood dogs, and might even really enjoy having another dog in the house as a playmate!

The one thing I’m currently really really trying to work on is not pulling while walking on a leash. I’m doing really well on a gentle leader, but I still get super distracted by people, dogs, squirrels, and, well, everything! I pull a lot with a regular collar.

I am a super happy, playful, loving Lady and I promise I’ll entertain you on a daily basis in exchange for your love and companionship. Are you my perfect match? I can’t wait to be in my furever home.

Love,

Lady

Lady is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken and spayed.  Her new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.

Lady's adoption fee is $300.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Lady fill out an Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
