Meet Lucy
Hi, I’m Lucy! I am a 9 year old Lab mix and weigh in at 65 pounds. I wear my heart on my sleeve and am an easy going lady. If you take me home I promise to greet you with my loving, smiling face and wagging tail. I really like seeing people on walks and am often complimented on my cuteness. I think it is important to take a moment to slow down and enjoy the day, and my pace reflects that on my walks - unless I see a squirrel run up a tree! The first time I did that, my burst of speed surprised my foster mom. I also enjoy hanging out on the porch/ balcony/ deck to take in the evening, especially when it cools off. I am calm and get energy from people, and from my two dog friends that I recently made. I am a great listener, and don't bark much. Around the house I like checking out what my mom is doing in the kitchen, taking naps on her bed or couch, and snuggling with her at night on her bed. I think for my forever home, I’d like a yard, so that I can watch the squirrels and rabbits safely. I also do like my walks! If you go out to work, I should be pretty good during the day. I like being around people and other dogs, so a family and maybe a dog sibling would be great! Whoever is going to love me, and be patient with my speed. My mom also takes care of a momma cat and kitten. The kitten thinks my tail is a toy and bats at it, but I don’t care! The momma cat is still getting used to me, but I give her space and she is warming up to me. If your home happens to have cat(s), I’d be ok with that. I’ve gone on a few car rides to a park that’s about 30 minutes away, and it has been great! I just sit in the back and enjoy. Oh! My mom has also made some really good smelling food. I sit by her and try to put on a face that lets her know I like food. I wouldn’t say I’m a beggar, cuz I’m not pushy - just more of an opportunist, should something happen to fall. Overall, I am a sweet girl! Let ARF know if you want to meet me! I can’t wait to meet you and show you how well I wag my tail!
Lucy is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken and spayed. Her new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.
Lucy's adoption fee is $300. A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Lucy fill out an Online Application today!
Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.
If you’re invited to meet an animal:
- Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
- All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.
Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
