Hello world! My name is Shye, and I am just the sweetest girl looking for love in all the right places. I am a 2 year old beagle mix weighing about 25 pounds. My foster mom thinks I look a bit like a foxhound.  I came into my foster home very shy. Within a few days I started coming out of my shell.  Now my foster family sees what a sweet and funny girl I am. I see that humans are good and they love to give me pets, toys, and treats. I really love rubber bones, Kong's, squeaky toys, and stuffies to play with. Tennis balls are fun too! Even though I'm doing much better now sometimes a large noise can startle me. It makes me happy to see my humans. I wag my tail and do a happy doggie dance. Oh do I love pets, they are the best! I am slowly learning what a leash is. This is a new concept for me. I let my humans know when I need to go outside but can be a bit timid actually going out the door. Once I am though, I know to go potty right away and don't have accidents in the house.  I am very treat motivated. Tasty treats are getting me to overcome my fears. Who doesn't love a tasty treat? I am very gentle when accepting treats from your hand.  I wouldn't mind being an only dog, I would also love a doggie playmate! I don't know about cats, but I love all humans. I have the sweetest disposition and I know that my forever family will help me become the happiest dog I can be. I have a lot of love to give!

Shye is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken and spayed as of 5/28/2020.  Her new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.

Shye's adoption fee is $300.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Shye fill out an Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If an animal is on our website, it is still available but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
