Meet Peanut

Hi, I’m Peanut, and I’m looking for a quiet place where I can finally feel safe and call home.

I was adopted when I was just a kitten, and for a long time, I had a person and a home of my own. Unfortunately, circumstances changed and my owner was no longer able to care for me, so I was surrendered through no fault of my own. Suddenly, everything I had known was gone, and I didn’t understand why.

At first, I stayed at a cat center, but it quickly became clear that it was a little too overwhelming for me. All the unfamiliar sounds, smells, people, and movement made me extremely scared and anxious. What I really needed was somewhere quieter where I could decompress and learn that I was safe again.

Now I’m with a loving foster who is helping me work on my confidence, one day at a time. And underneath all those nerves is an incredibly loving girl. I love affection, I can be picked up and held, and once I feel safe with you, I’m more than happy to soak up all the love you’re willing to give me.

For my forever home, I’m looking for something peaceful and predictable where I can be your one and only pet. I would thrive with a family who is patient, kind, and confident enough to give me the time and reassurance I need while I adjust. I may not walk into your home on day one acting like I own the place, but with patience, consistency, and lots of love, I know my confidence can continue to grow.

I’ve already had my whole world change once. This time, I’m hoping the next home I settle into will be the one I never have to leave. All I need is someone willing to believe in me while I learn that I’m finally home.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
