** NOT ACCEPTING ANY MORE APPLICATIONS**
Sam is an approximately 2 year old Beagle mix who weighs in at 29 pounds. Sam tested positive for heartworm and has received his treatment. He will need to stay calm for the next month, but once recovered, he will not have any negative health effects. He is the sweetest thing, he is friendly with other dogs and cats. He even does well with cats who do not like dogs - he could care less and is very good with them! However, he does like his human lap time and can get a little snarky if other dogs try to interrupt. This may carry over to small children as well, so ARF requests children be over age 8 if present.
He is totally housebroken and lets you know when he has to go outside.
Sam is the most lovable dog, he loves pets and scratches, and is becoming very well mannered. He knows the word "no," and he is getting very good at not jumping on you anymore.
Sam loves to play and would do great with a good family with older children to give him lots of love and attention!
Sam is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and housebroken. He will be neutered when current world events allow. His new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.
Sam's adoption fee is $300. A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Sam fill out an Online Application today!
Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.
If you’re invited to meet an animal:
- Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
- All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.
Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
