Meet Dillon aka Dylan

Dillon is a 1 year old neutered male Lab mix who weighs in at 69 pounds.  His foster has nicknamed him "Dilly".  Here are some things to know about him:

Dilly is a great dog!

When he arrived with ARF it was apparent that he had been very badly infested with fleas. He was shaved in places, treated and clear of the little pests before transport, but had sores all over from scratching. He received antibiotics to help with the skin infection and he healed very quickly.

Dilly is great with the other dog in his foster home. They play hard and nap all the time. He is okay with cats, he has chased the resident cat a few times, but otherwise does not bother with them. He loves their food, his food and all food. He loves to play with toys and gnaw on hard bones. He walks pretty good on the leash and loves to ride in the car. He snuck out of his foster's gate as she was going out on two occasions. He did not immediately run, but rather stayed in the driveway with her briefly before being returned to the fenced yard.

He drinks a lot of water, and therefore needs to go out frequently. When he first arrived, he went #1 in the house a couple times, but is now house trained. He doesn't really have any tells except walking up to his foster mom and then walking towards the door to go out.

He is crate trained, just tell him to go in his house and in he goes. Dilly sits when commanded and lays down. Might take a few "sit"s but he does it. This needs a little more work and consistency. He has learned to take treats gently.  He is smart and a quick learner!

He alerts when there are people by the house and wildlife in the yard. He barks, but quiets when told to.

He is used to "good boy" because he is a good boy!

He does like to dig in the yard; he can be trained not to, or he will grow out of it with age.

He adjusts really well with a little time and a lot of love and attention and is looking forward to his forever home.

Dillon is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken and neutered.  His new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.

Dillon's adoption fee is $400.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Dillon fill out an Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
