Meet Kala

This simply delightful young lady is Kala.  Kala came to us from a shelter downstate when she was VERY pregnant.  She was so pregnant that she had her babies while she was on the transport van.  Her foster mom came to get her and got a big surprise when she saw 5 newborn kittens!

Kala is super sweet and very lovely.  She did not have the easiest life previously as her damaged ear shows, but you'd never know it.  She's very affectionate.  She absolutely loves to have her face rubbed and her belly rubbed.  Your hand will fall off before she's tired of the pets and attention.   She is on the chatty side and will happily follow you around to see what you are doing and how she might help out.  Kala loves to be with her people and rub her face on them and get and give affection.

Kala has slowly been introduced to other cats.  She has been making great progress with other cats and does very well with her friend Makanui who is being spayed near the end of May.  We do not know how she does with dogs or small children.  She LOVES the kittens and we think she might enjoy a forever home with one of them or with Makanui.  She is being fostered with 2 of her babies - Bamberg and Yukon and our 6 ice cream babies who she adores.  She doesn't mind that they aren't hers by birth - she loves them all.  You can follow her progress at facebook.com/kittenville.il.

Kala is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed and litterbox trained.  Kala's adoption fee is $95.  if you are interested in meeting Kala, please fill out our online application. Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be in touch to discuss next steps.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
