Meet Zelda

Hello from Zelda!

I’m a gentle girl and I’ll dazzle you with my sweet demeanor! Appropriately named, I am also friendly and loving, and I’m definitely deserving of the title “Princess”!

I am guessed to be six-seven years old and weigh 19 pounds. My soft chestnut coat is neat and low-maintenance, and I have the most soulful amber eyes you have ever seen! I’ve also recently had a dental and been spayed, and I’ve healed up great.

I love the yard and playing with my stuffed llama and other babies. I also like to collect all my stuffies and put them in my doggie bed so we can all cuddle up together.

In addition, I sleep quietly through the night on the couch in the family room, and I am good in the car. I also actually enjoy going into my extra-large crate to rest—as long as it’s left open and I know that I am not trapped.

Not much is really known about my past, however,  it’s apparent that I wasn’t loved as I should’ve been, and I think I would probably do best as the only dog in the home so that I can get all the love! Because there are so many other furry friends here at my foster home, sometimes I get jealous when the other dogs are getting attention and I’m not.

It turns out I am heartworm positive, but don't worry, because in the long run they say I will be just fine and will have no negative health effects related to it. I have been taking medicine every day and will get my treatments April 8th and 9th.  After that, I will be ready for my forever home.  I will just need to keep my heart rate down for 30 days so I can heal.

I am such a lover and just want to cuddle and feel safe. Might you be the right person or nice family to love me forever?

Zelda is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housetrained and spayed.  His new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.

Zelda's adoption fee is $300.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Zelda fill out an Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

  • Age-appropriate vaccines
  • Pre-adoption medical exam
  • A certificate for a free healthy pet exam at one of A.R.F.’s participating veterinarians within 7 days of adoption

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
