Meet Spot

They say some people wear their heart on their sleeve, but have you ever seen someone wear it on their nose? Meet Spot! This sweet boy found himself at Chicago Animal Control when his owners moved and could not take him (or his seven animal siblings) with them. Understandably, his feelings were hurt but he considers himself resilient and knows that the best years of his life are still ahead of him.

At one year old, Spot is a big kitten who enjoys long naps, late night snuggles and watching birds through the window. In his spare time, he has also been known to enjoy a laser pointer and a bell toy or two. Looking for someone to help you with your holiday baking? Count him in! Spot is excellent at “making biscuits” and would love to jump in to assist in the kitchen.

Not only is he a great baker but he also fancies himself somewhat of a triple threat – he’s good with cats, dogs and kiddos! He’s currently spending time in his foster home with his brother Dusty, so if you are considering adopting two, they would be a great match. Spot would be happy with another pet in the home or as your one and only – he doesn’t mind the attention! He’s also great with the litter box and not picky with food (ok, his one request is crunchy treats every now and then).

Spot is just looking for a cozy place to call his own and someone to give him all the love he deserves. If you’re interested in learning more about Spot, please let us know!

Spot is a one year old male who is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and litter box trained.

Spot's adoption fee is $110.  If you are interested in meeting Spot, please fill out our Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
