Meet Dawn and Dusk

Dawn is a gentle soul.  She loves to be petted and takes just a few days to feel secure and be out and about looking for attention. Dawn has great manners and does not get pushy about getting attention.  You can pick her up where ever she is and she will sit with you and get pets.  The owner got her from a breeder that said she is a Maine Coon.  She might be a Maine Coon mix but we don't believe she is a pure Maine Coon cat.  Dawn is Dusk's rock.  She comforts him and shows him that he can trust humans.  He would be completely lost without her.  They haven't settled in enough to play with their toys around humans but whenever the foster isn't in the room they can be heard playing as cats should and the cat toys are always in different spots.  You know they whole thing with dogs and slippers?  Well they have claimed this particular fuzzy slipper as an honorary cat toy.  It will make the trek to their forever home with them.  Please give Dusk and Dawn a chance, they are really sweet, gently cats that need stability and a quiet environment to absolutely flourish.

Dusk is a sweetheart of a cat that is unsure of his surroundings.  He will need a quiet home with an understanding owner that can give him time to become more confident.  He is bonded with his "sister" and she gives him the confidence to know that life will be ok despite the rough beginnings.  The two were owner surrendered together but are not blood siblings.  He was originally rescued from a hoarding situation by his owner of 4 months.  The owner brought Dusk into a home with a dog and a cat.  Turns out he is terrified of the dog.  Slow introduction did nothing to help him get over his fear of dogs.  At the current foster home he is always hiding but the foster just picks him up and pets him and he will stay in her arms getting loved.  He doesn't run away or fight being held.  He does not know how to ask for love.  For Dusk to become the amazing cat that he is he needs a quiet home with his sister Dawn.  Dusk is fine with children if they visit but would probably prefer to live with an adult or a family with older kids.

Dawn and Dusk are 8 months and 1 year respectively.  They are micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and litter box trained.

Dawn and Dusk's combined adoption fee is $220.  If you are interested in meeting Dawn and Dusk, please fill out our Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
