Meet Seeker

Seeker is an incredibly sweet 1-1.5 year old Jack Russell Terrier who weighs 26 pounds. He gets along with every dog he meets and

he is not friendly with strangers at first but is very affectionate when he gets to know you

, except for children. Seeker is not a fan of children, so ARF requests households with children 12 and older if present.

Seeker has been working on his fears of strangers, loud noises, and fast movements. If a person approaches him in a way he feels cornered he may growl and shake in fear, and if this is not respected he may snap. Once you have gained his trust, he’s a cuddle bug and warms up to family members laying his head in your lap to ask for scritches and following you around. His new family will need to allow Seeker time to adjust in order to earn this trust.

Seeker rarely barks but he is very vocal and makes cute noise to communicate. Besides cuddling, Seeker’s favorite thing to do is be outside and go for walks. He’s housebroken and will let you know when he has to go out by standing near a door or window. H

e loves to play with toys with his family and dog friends throughout the day and has a moderate level of energy. He loves long walks and getting exercise but he also appreciates frequent naps and relaxing days spent at home cuddling. Seeker

is a fast learner, does well in the car, and is crate trained.

Seeker is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken and neutered.  His new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.

Seeker's adoption fee is $400.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Seeker fill out an Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
