ARF Adoption Procedures

If you feel that you can provide a loving home for one of our pets, please set up an appointment to meet the animal. We require each potential adopter to: Review our Available Pets for potential adoptee candidates. Complete an Adoption Application prior to meeting an animal.   You will be screened to ensure that: You understand the life long responsibility of adopting and caring for a pet. All household members consent to the decision to adopt. Adopting a pet will not result in a violation of your lease. If you live in an apartment, we do ask that you provide us with a copy of the lease or obtain a letter of approval from your landlord. You are 18 years or older to adopt a pet from us. The temperament of the animal you are interested in is conducive to your lifestyle and home environment. Agree to our adoption fees*: Dogs: $180 Kittens: 6 months and younger $125.00 Cats: Older than 6 months $110.00 *Unless otherwise noted in pet listing or adoption contract. Included in a pet adoption: Spay/Neuter* First Distemper Vaccination Initial de-worming Heartworm or Feline Aids/Leukemia Testing A certificate for a free veterinary exam Rabies Vaccination of dogs 6 months and older Microchip Implant, a permanent identification to help protect animals from loss or theft. Dollar Special for 1st Month of ShelterCare Pet Insurance *If a pet is too young to be spayed or neutered by us, then the adopter is responsible for the spay or neuter of the pet at the appropriate time.
